Joseph Sultan received his Bachelor of Architecture from The Cooper Union in 1976. He worked in firms including Davis Brody Associates, Giorgio Cavagileri before forming Gran Sultan Associates and then Sultan Architecture and Design in 2000. He is a Registered Architect in New York and New Jersey. Joe’s work has been featured in Interior Design Magazine, Architectural Record, and the New York Times. Joe was born and raised in Brooklyn and has lived, studied, and practiced in New York throughout his career. Through his long time work with the New York State Office of Mental Health, he developed a prototype for supportive housing that is still in use today. Now, after years of architectural practice, Joe has turned his attention to the textile industry where he develops flooring and home products in partnership with Sandy Chilewich.
